Abdoul Abdouraguimov Headlines PFL France Return in September

PFL will host an event in Nantes, France on Sept. 26, headlined by Abdoul Abdouraguimov, marking their first return to France since a canceled Paris event, and featuring the semifinals of the PFL Europe lightweight and bantamweight tournaments.

PFL is heading to France on Sept. 26, with Abdoul Abdouraguimov headlining in Nantes. The opponent? Still a mystery. This marks PFL’s first return to France since a canceled event in Paris on May 26. Yep, the second time Paris plans went south.

The card will also spotlight the semifinals of the PFL Europe lightweight and bantamweight tournaments. Winners here? They’ll punch their tickets to the Dec. 13 finals in Lyon, eyeing that sweet $100,000 prize.

Abdouraguimov, known as the “Lazy King,” hails from Dagestan but calls Nantes home. He’s on a roll with three straight wins under the PFL Europe banner since 2023. His latest victory was over UFC veteran Laureano Staropoli in Décines-Charpieu, France, in December 2024. Quite the resume!

“PFL is coming home,” Abdouraguimov declared. “After 21 pro fights, I finally get to perform in front of my home crowd. It’s at the Zenith Nantes Metropole that I’m gonna do the next Lazy Show. Grab a seat, some popcorn, and be good—but not too much—’cause I’m here to entertain you on September 26. Let’s go!”

His nine-fight winning streak is impressive, including swift title wins over MMA vets Godofredo Pepey and Karl Amoussou in Ares FC. There, he became a two-division champ at welterweight and middleweight before joining PFL. Quite the journey, right?
