Alex Perez and Steve Erceg, both struggling to regain form, will face off at UFC Vegas 109 on August 9, as part of an event headlined by Roman Dolidze vs. Anthony Hernandez.
Alex Perez and Steve Erceg really need a win. Both are set to face off at UFC Vegas 109 on August 9. Oh, and there’s a middleweight bout too—Roman Dolidze vs. Anthony Hernandez. That’s the headliner.
Perez and Erceg? They’re in the top 15 of the MMA Fighting Global Rankings. Perez sits at No. 10, while Erceg is at No. 12. But both are having a rough patch, struggling to find their groove.
Perez (25-9) has only one win in his last five fights. He broke a three-fight losing streak with a knockout of Matheus Nicolau. But then, bam, back to losing. Knee injury against Tatsura Taira in June 2024.
Erceg (12-4) isn’t faring much better. His losing streak kicked off with a title fight loss. He lost a close decision to Alexandra Pantoja at UFC 301. Then, defeats to Kai Kara-France and Brandon Moreno followed.
It’s a tough road for both fighters. But hey, anything can happen in the octagon, right?
