Top-ranked heavyweights Alexander Volkov and Jailton Almeida are set to face off at UFC 321 in Abu Dhabi on October 25, potentially as a title eliminator, with both fighters verbally agreeing despite no contracts being signed yet.

Top-ranked heavyweights Alexander Volkov and Jailton Almeida are set to clash at UFC 321 in Abu Dhabi on Oct. 25. This bout might just be a title eliminator, according to insiders.

While contracts aren’t signed yet, both fighters have verbally agreed to the showdown in the U.A.E. Exciting, right?

The UFC hasn’t announced the main event for the Abu Dhabi pay-per-view at Etihad Arena. The suspense is real!

Volkov (38-11) and Almeida (22-3) were eyeing a shot at the undisputed champion Tom Aspinall. But with Jon Jones retiring, they’ll first battle for top ranking.

Volkov, who lost to Aspinall in 2022, bounced back with four wins. He stopped Jairzinho Rozenstruik, Alexandr Romanov, and Tai Tuivasa, and scored a decision over Sergei Pavlovich. A controversial split decision loss to Ciryl Gane last December stung a bit.

Almeida, on the other hand, won his last two fights, finishing Romanov and Serghei Spivac in the first round. This was after his only UFC loss to Curtis Blaydes in March 2024.

Can’t wait to see how this unfolds!
