Arman Tsarukyan dominated Dan Hooker at UFC Qatar, positioning himself as the next potential challenger for the UFC lightweight title against champion Ilia Topuria, with support from notable figures like Henry Cejudo.
Arman Tsarukyan, you might just be the next big thing in the UFC lightweight division.
Saturday night, he made his case loud and clear. In the main event at UFC Qatar, he delivered a clinical win over Dan Hooker. Dominating with wrestling, he sealed the deal with an arm-triangle choke in the second round. Impressive, right?
2025 was a tough year for Tsarukyan. He spent much of it sidelined after a back injury forced him to miss a championship bout against Islam Makhachev. Just a day before UFC 311, too. Ouch.
After this victory, Tsarukyan didn’t hold back. He called for a shot at the current champ, Ilia Topuria. Many pros agree—he’s the most deserving contender at 155 pounds.
Even Henry Cejudo chimed in on Twitter. He confidently stated that Tsarukyan “will be the man to dethrone Ilia Topuria.”
