B.J. Penn Ordered to Leave Home, Restraining Order Extended

B.J. Penn has been ordered to vacate his mother’s home and stay away due to a restraining order following allegations of abuse and erratic behavior, with his mother claiming he suffers from a delusional disorder.

B.J. Penn has been ordered to leave the home he shares with his mother. This decision came after a Hawaiian judge extended a temporary restraining order against him.

Court documents reveal that Judge Ng approved an amended order, extending the protective measure filed by Penn’s mother, Lorraine Shin, until November 23. As part of this order, Penn must vacate the home immediately and maintain a distance of at least 100 feet from his mother, and 100 yards from her residence or workplace.

The order clearly states, “if the parties run into each other, the prohibited party (Penn) must leave immediately.” Penn’s legal troubles have escalated recently, with three arrests in just six days. Initially, he was taken into custody for charges of abuse against a family member.

Penn was arrested again on the same charge, and a third time for failing to appear in court, violating his bail agreement. Notably, Penn refused to sign the protective order against him.

The original order was granted after Shin accused Penn of “extreme psychological abuse.” His behavior included bizarre claims that his family had been replaced by imposters.

In her filing, Shin alleged that Penn sabotaged her door lock with glue and stole her mail, leading to a confrontation and his subsequent arrest. She also claimed Penn blinded her with a flashlight to stop her from calling the police, and physically restrained her during an altercation.

Shin believes her son may be suffering from Capgras delusional syndrome, a psychiatric disorder. She told police, “He believes I’m an imposter who has killed his family to gain control of the family assets.”

For her safety, Shin requested a six-month restraining order and urged the court to mandate medical treatment for Penn. The temporary restraining order was extended, with Penn set to return to court on June 24.

Penn, now 46, has shown troubling behavior over recent years. His mental health has been questioned due to multiple arrests and concerning social media posts.

One recent post featured a voiceover by Hector Lombard, praising Penn as one of the smartest fighters. Penn’s last UFC fight was in 2019, ending in his seventh consecutive defeat, marking the end of his career with the promotion.
