Belal Muhammad isn’t letting grass grow under his feet. After a tough loss to Ian Machado Garry at UFC Qatar, he’s diving back into action.

He’s set to wrestle David Carr, a two-time NCAA Division-I freestyle wrestling champ, at RAF 4 on Dec. 20 in Fishers, Indiana. Carr also holds the Real American Freestyle welterweight title.

At 37, Muhammad is eager to shake off consecutive losses. He lost his UFC welterweight title to Jack Della Maddalena at UFC 315, and then faced defeat again against Garry. This marks the first losing streak in his 30-fight career.

Carr, on the other hand, recently became RAF’s inaugural welterweight champ. He clinched the title by defeating Egyptian Olympian Amr Reda Hussen in October. The 26-year-old has a solid college wrestling background, winning national titles in two different weight classes.

RAF’s had a whirlwind first year, with its third event happening in Chicago this Saturday. Former UFC stars Chad Mendes and Michael Chandler are headlining, alongside veterans Joaquin Buckley and Clay Guida. Oh, and Bella Mir, daughter of MMA legend Frank Mir, is also in the mix. Exciting times!
