Bella Mir remained undefeated with a submission victory over Stephanie Calderon at Fury FC’s Challenger Series 14, marking her first fight in three years as she balances her MMA career with wrestling ambitions, including a potential 2028 Olympic appearance.
Bella Mir kept her undefeated streak alive with a swift victory at Fury FC’s Challenger Series 14. Her first fight in three years ended with a rarely seen submission.
After some striking exchanges, Mir executed a single-leg takedown. Once on the ground, she advanced to mount, forcing Calderon to scramble and give up her back.
Mir quickly locked in a one-armed kimura, hinting at a rear-naked choke. Calderon tapped out to avoid injury as Mir torqued her arm.
The fight concluded at 3:58 in the first round. “That’s folkstyle wrestling, a chicken wing,” Mir remarked about her submission.
Mir, daughter of UFC legend Frank Mir, hadn’t fought since 2022 due to her wrestling career. She transferred to North Central College, finishing second at the NCAA Championships.
Her focus remains on wrestling, eyeing the 2028 Olympics. She aims to join the UFC, having been the first athlete sponsored by the promotion through a name, image, and likeness deal.
Despite her busy schedule, Mir might not fight again until 2026. “Maybe next year, we’ll go back at it again,” she said. “This was fun. I can’t wait.”
With this win, Mir’s record stands at 4-0, all victories by submission. Her future in MMA looks promising, with connections to Dana White and aspirations for the UFC.
