Bo Nickal, after his first MMA loss to Reinier de Ridder, humorously released a prank video with comedian Redd Miller, poking fun at his own defeat.
Bo Nickal isn’t above cracking a joke at his own expense. The blue-chip middleweight prospect faced his first loss this past May. Knocked out by the more experienced Reinier de Ridder at UFC Des Moines.
Critics? Oh, they were quick to jump on Nickal’s misfortune. PFL star Sergio Pettis even said the three-time NCAA wrestling champ “needed this humble pie.”
Initially, Nickal had a volatile reaction to his haters. But it seems he’s moved on. He released a prank video with comedian Redd Miller, aka “ImReddTv.” In it, he pretended to KO Miller with a knee to the body—the same strike de Ridder used.
Watch the video below.
In the clip, Miller mocks Nickal’s ability to take a knee while Nickal grapples with PFL middleweight champ Johnny Eblen. The taunts? They prompt Nickal to test Miller’s toughness. The comedian sells the strike like a shotgun blast, but it’s obviously staged.
If there was any doubt, Miller cleared it up in the caption: “Did you guys hear that crack? Bo Nickal got really mad but it was just a prank.”
Nickal’s got plenty of time to horse around as he waits for his next booking. The 29-year-old won his first seven pro bouts, including a 4-0 start in the UFC, before the loss to de Ridder. Now? He’s looking to bounce back from his first MMA setback.
