Brandon Royval Claims Disrespect in UFC

Brandon Royval, despite being the No. 1 contender, often feels disrespected and overlooked as an underdog in UFC matchups, including his upcoming fight against Joshua Van at UFC 317.

LAS VEGAS—Brandon Royval is gearing up to face Joshua Van at UFC 317. It’s a late-notice fight, yet Royval finds himself as the underdog again. Sound familiar? Despite being the No. 1 contender, he feels perpetually overlooked by fighters, fans, and well, pretty much everyone.

“I think I’m the most disrespected fighter in the UFC,” Royval expressed at UFC 317 media day. “It happens over and over. Except against Matt Schnell, I’ve never been the favorite. Not in the UFC, not even in LFA. It’s like I’m always underestimated by fans and oddsmakers alike.”

Catch more of Royval’s thoughts from media day as he gets ready to face Van on Saturday at T-Mobile Arena. Curious to see how it unfolds?
