Canelo Alvarez vs Terence Crawford: New Date & Location

The Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford fight has been rescheduled to September 13, with the location yet to be announced, due to a scheduling conflict at Allegiant Stadium, and it may compete with UFC 320 on the same date.

Canelo Alvarez vs. Terence Crawford has a new date! And soon, a new location will be announced.

Originally set for Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on September 12, the fight now shifts to September 13. But where will it be?

Promoter Turki Alalshikh spilled the beans to The Ring magazine. Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and New York are all vying to host this epic showdown. It’s part of Alalshikh’s Riyadh Season pay-per-view series. Oh, and it’s also the debut event for Dana White’s TKO Boxing promotion. Exciting, right?

Why the change, you ask? ESPN reports it’s because UNLV’s football team is playing Idaho State at Allegiant Stadium on the same day. Bit of a scheduling conflict there.

Here’s a twist: September 13 is also when UFC 320 kicks off in Guadalajara, Mexico. If Canelo vs. Crawford lands in the U.S., it could clash directly with UFC 320. Drama!

Could it end up in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia? If so, expect an earlier start in North America. Neither Alalshikh nor White have commented on this potential clash. Silence speaks volumes, doesn’t it?

Back to the fighters. On May 3, Canelo (63-2-2) reclaimed his super middleweight crown by defeating William Scull. But the fight? Not exactly a thriller. CompuBox stats show it had the fewest punches thrown in a 12-round bout since 1985. Yikes.

Meanwhile, Crawford (41-0) is jumping up two divisions to face Canelo. His last fight in August saw him beat Israil Madrimov by unanimous decision, keeping his perfect record intact. Quite the leap, huh?
