Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford are set to face off in a highly-anticipated superfight for the undisputed super middleweight title on September 13, with both champions engaging in a spirited exchange during their media tour kickoff in Riyadh.
The journey to the epic showdown between Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford has officially kicked off. On September 13, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, these two pound-for-pound legends will clash for the undisputed super middleweight title.
This fight’s been brewing for years. Alvarez, the reigning super middleweight champ, faces Crawford, a former undisputed welterweight and light welterweight champion. The hype is real, with a media world tour that started in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Things were pretty chill between the champs, mostly sticking to boxing talk. But tensions almost flared when discussing the fight’s outcome.
“He’s not going to beat me. Don’t worry about it,” Canelo assured. “I think this fight is going to be in the history books of boxing, that’s for sure.”
Crawford shot back confidently, “For sure them belts are coming with me. They’re coming home with me.”
Canelo, unfazed, replied, “You can see it, but it’s going to be difficult to take to your home.”
“I’m taking them, and there ain’t nothing you’re going to be able to do about it come fight night,” Crawford promised.
Canelo mentioned, “I know Turki is in your corner, but it’s going to be very difficult. He’s going to be so mad that day.”
Crawford countered, “I see you. You see I’m different than all the other ones.”
Canelo wasn’t buying it. “I see you, too. You’re nothing different. Nothing different.”
After that fiery exchange, they faced off for the first time since the fight’s announcement. Next up, they’ll be in New York City for the second leg of their media tour on Sunday.
