Cesar Almeida withdraws from UFC Vegas 82 bout against Christian Leroy Duncan

Cesar Almeida has withdrawn from UFC Vegas 82 due to medical reasons and Christian Leroy Duncan needs a new opponent for the event.

Christian Leroy Duncan is in need of a new opponent for UFC Vegas 82 after Cesar Almeida was forced to withdraw from the card due to medical reasons. The event, set to take place at the UFC APEX, will feature a headlining middleweight showdown between Brendan Allen and Paul Craig. Almeida, who holds a record of 4-0, will have to undergo minor surgery after battling an infection for over a week. It is uncertain how long the Brazilian fighter will be sidelined.

Almeida earned a spot in the UFC after defeating Lucas Fernando at Dana White’s Contender Series last August. He is also known for his victory over new UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira in kickboxing, though he suffered two losses to Pereira over the course of his kickboxing career. Duncan, on the other hand, aims to bounce back from a decision defeat to Armen Petrosyan in June, which marks the first loss on his previously unblemished record. Prior to joining the UFC, Duncan secured and defended the Cage Warriors belt before making a successful octagon debut by defeating Dusko Todorovic.

Duncan’s team is now in search of a new opponent for UFC Vegas 82 following Almeida’s withdrawal. With the event fast approaching, finding a suitable replacement is crucial for Duncan to continue his journey in the UFC. As for Almeida, the fighter’s recovery timeline remains uncertain as he prepares to undergo surgery for his lingering infection.
