Cheyanne Vlismas announced her retirement from MMA to focus on motherhood, ending her career with a 7-3 pro record after a final fight loss at UFC Vegas 66.
Cheyanne Vlismas has hung up her gloves for good.
On Monday, the UFC veteran with four fights under her belt announced her retirement from MMA on social media. Known as “The Warrior Princess,” she wrapped up her career with a 7-3 pro record, going 2-2 in the octagon.
“As of today I am officially retired,” Vlismas shared on Instagram. This decision, she admitted, comes with heartbreak. But it’s necessary. After having her second child, time is scarce. She can’t give 100% to training without sacrificing time with her kids. Her choice? Be the parent she always wished for.
“As hard as this decision is because I love fighting so much with all my heart. My kids will always be put first.” Could she leave them for a two-month training camp? Nope. It was a dream. Not all dreams fulfilled, but reaching the highest level? Priceless. Now, it’s motherhood all the way. And a heartfelt thanks to her fans.
Vlismas snagged a UFC contract after a unanimous decision win against Hilarie Rose at DWCS, Week 3 in August 2020. Though she lost her debut to Montserrat Conejo Ruiz, she bounced back with wins against Gloria de Paula and Mallory Martin.
Her final fight was a decision loss to Cory McKenna at UFC Vegas 66 in December 2022. A bittersweet farewell.
