Chiesa dominated the former lightweight champion Rafael Dos Anjos. Chiesa’s who holds a purple belt in Jui-Jitsu came in with a steady gameplan to take Dos Anjos to the ground and won a unanimous decision. He now rides a 3 fight win streak and after beating a top 5 opponent he thinks he deserves to fight the best.

“I just beat the #5 guy in the world. I’m not here to engage in a little piss fight. I’m trying to get to a world title. I said before the fight if I beat Rafael Dos Anjos I’m not fighting anyone ranked less than 5. Looking at the landscape of the division that’s the fight the makes sense. Colby, it is”.

Colby Covington is currently the #2 ranked welterweight in the world. He is coming off a 5th round TKO loss to Kamaru Usman at UFC 245. He has not announced a return to the octagon but his manager thinks he should be back in the ring sometime in April or May.

“I just went out and beat a championship-caliber fighter. I want to fight the best guys and test myself. I’m not out here to find easy fights. Colby Covington is a nightmare matchup for me but I’m ready to walk through fire.
