A lawsuit against UFC superstar Conor McGregor over 2023 sexual assault allegations has been dropped. Quite the twist, right?
On Tuesday, a new court filing revealed that the accuser, known only as Jane Doe, decided to “voluntarily dismiss with prejudice.” This means she can’t refile the same claim later. The court accepted this, closing the case on Wednesday.
Initially, McGregor was accused of assaulting a woman in a bathroom during an NBA Finals game. The Miami Heat game, to be exact.
Police looked into it, but no criminal charges were filed. McGregor, as expected, denied everything.
“After a thorough investigation, the State’s Attorney found no case to pursue,” said McGregor’s attorney, Barbara Llanes, when the lawsuit was first filed in January. “Two years, three lawyers, and now a new false story. We were confident this case would be dismissed.”
And so, 11 months later, it was.
Meanwhile, McGregor was found liable in a separate 2018 case in Ireland. Despite maintaining his innocence, he was ordered to pay £206,000 ($271,742.84) in damages. Ouch.
As one of the biggest names in combat sports, McGregor hasn’t fought since 2021. Remember that gruesome leg break against Dustin Poirier?
Now, he’s back in training, eyeing a return at the UFC White House card in June 2026. Let’s see what happens next!
