Conor McGregor’s Epic Response to Canelo Alvarez’s ‘Uncooked Chicken’ Diss

Conor McGregor and Canelo Alvarez engaged in a Twitter exchange after McGregor praised Floyd Mayweather’s victory over Alvarez, leading to insults and threats being exchanged between the two fighters.

Conor McGregor and Canelo Alvarez engaged in a heated online exchange following McGregor’s remarks about Alvarez’s performance against Floyd Mayweather. McGregor had posted a video clip of Mayweather’s victory over Alvarez in 2013, praising Mayweather’s skills and noting that he landed more punches on Alvarez. This comment sparked a response from Alvarez, who retorted that he only needed one hand to defeat McGregor, accompanied by a laughing emoji.

Interestingly, McGregor’s claim about landing more punches against Mayweather is mostly accurate. Compubox statistics revealed that McGregor landed 26 percent of his punches and 28 percent of his jabs in their 2017 bout, while Alvarez managed to land 22 percent of his punches and 15 percent of his jabs in their 2013 showdown. However, Alvarez outshined McGregor in power punches, landing 31 percent compared to McGregor’s 25 percent.

Unfazed by Alvarez’s response, McGregor retaliated with his signature brashness. He insulted Alvarez, calling him an “uncooked chicken” and threatening to cause him harm. McGregor even boasted that he didn’t need to rely on his hands to defeat Alvarez, as he could kick him relentlessly. Despite the fiery exchange, it is yet to be seen if a potential fight between the two will materialize.

Alvarez remains a target for many prospective opponents, not only from the MMA world but also influencers. UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman has expressed interest in facing Alvarez, albeit unsuccessfully. Meanwhile, YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul has also issued another callout, continuing his quest to establish his credibility in the boxing realm. As for McGregor, his return to the octagon against Michael Chandler is anticipated next year, although the exact timeline is uncertain due to the recent fallout between the UFC and the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency, which severed ties over disagreements regarding the former champion’s testing protocol.
