Conor McGregor is undergoing drug tests for a potential UFC comeback, aiming for a return by July 2026, while dealing with past injuries and legal issues.
Conor McGregor’s making waves again—he’s back in the drug-testing pool, hinting at a possible comeback. Exciting, right?
According to the UFC Anti-Doping website, McGregor registered his first test for 2025 on August 1. Jed I. Goodman was the first to spot this.
This test is McGregor’s first since 2024, when he underwent 11 tests. Those were mainly for a planned fight against Michael Chandler at UFC 303 in June 2024. Unfortunately, a toe injury forced him to withdraw.
Recently, McGregor announced he was back in the testing pool. He even posted pics on social media, showing off a bandage on his shoulder, exclaiming, "I am ECSTATIC! I’m in SHAPE!”
At 37, McGregor’s eyeing a potential UFC event at the White House. This event is proposed by President Donald Trump and UFC CEO Dana White for July 2026, aligning with the U.S.’s 250th Independence Day.
If McGregor fights then, it’ll be five years since his last bout. He’s been out since breaking his leg against Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021, apart from the canceled UFC 303.
Outside the octagon, McGregor’s thriving—he’s a part-owner of BKFC and starred in the 2024 remake of Road House. Yet, his legal woes continue. Recently, he lost an appeal in a civil case for a 2018 sexual assault incident in Dublin.
Life’s never dull with McGregor, is it?
