Floyd Mayweather vs John Gotti III Rematch in Mexico City Aug 24

Floyd Mayweather and John Gotti III are set for a rematch on August 24 in Mexico City, following their chaotic exhibition bout in June 2023.

It looks like Floyd Mayweather and John Gotti III are gearing up for a rematch. This time, it’s serious.

On Friday night, Mayweather dropped the news. The undefeated boxer and the six-time MMA veteran will clash again on Aug. 24 in Mexico City.

Last November, Mayweather hinted at a fight during Super Bowl weekend in Vegas. But that never happened. Gotti didn’t even confirm it.

Now, Gotti’s on board. He’s been promoting the new date on his Instagram stories.

Their last encounter? Pure chaos. It was an exhibition bout in June 2023.

In the sixth round, things got heated. Referee Kenny Bayless had to stop the fight. But Gotti wasn’t done. He kept going after Mayweather, leading to a wild melee with both camps jumping into the ring.

Gotti, the grandson of the notorious mob boss John Gotti, has a 5-1 record in pro MMA. He switched to boxing after a shocking loss to Nick Alley in October 2020 at CES 61.

Since then, Gotti’s been on a roll in the boxing world. He’s 2-0, including a first-round knockout in January 2023.

Mayweather, now 47, hasn’t slowed down either. He’s kept busy with exhibition bouts against names like Logan Paul, Deji, and Tenshin Nasukawa.

His last pro boxing match? That was back in August 2017, when he defeated Conor McGregor.
