Henry Cejudo revealed that a podcast episode with Kamaru Usman and Belal Muhammad turned heated and physical, with Usman initiating the conflict, though the full details remain unreleased.
Henry Cejudo didn’t spill all the tea about the infamous, unreleased podcast with former UFC champs Kamaru Usman and Belal Muhammad. But he did share some juicy details.
Cejudo and Usman co-host the Pound 4 Pound podcast. They invited Muhammad on the show, a setup by manager Ali Abdelaziz, who represents all three fighters. Things got heated, as both Usman and Muhammad hinted before, with Cejudo confirming Usman might’ve started it.
“There was already drama coming in,” Cejudo mentioned on the JAXXON Podcast. He tried playing mediator, asking both fighters what they thought of each other. But then, things escalated.
After Muhammad snagged the welterweight title at UFC 304, Usman called for a rematch. Muhammad clapped back on social media, keeping the tension alive until the podcast.
Cejudo revealed that the situation not only got heated but also physical. “All of a sudden, I think Kamaru said it’s on sight,” he explained, with Muhammad responding in kind. Chaos ensued.
“There was a legit scuffle,” Cejudo said. Despite a sprained ankle, he tried to intervene. The production crew jumped in to separate them, with hands and slaps flying.
Recently, Muhammad lost the title to Jack Della Maddalena. Usman, on the other hand, is set to face Joaquin Buckley at UFC Atlanta on June 14, marking his return after nearly two years.
Why invite Muhammad with so much tension? Cejudo thought it might be a chance to bury the hatchet. “I was like, ‘No, I think that’s f*cking cool,’” he shared, appreciating Usman’s willingness to confront the situation head-on.
