Henry Cejudo, an Olympic gold medalist and former UFC champion, is returning to wrestling to headline RAF 6 in Tempe, Arizona, after announcing his second retirement from MMA.
Henry Cejudo is making his way back to the wrestling mats. Yep, you heard that right!
Promotional officials have confirmed that the Olympic gold medalist and former two-division UFC champ will headline RAF 6. This event is set for Feb. 28 at Mullett Arena in Tempe, Arizona, and will stream exclusively on FOX Nation.
As of now, Cejudo’s opponent remains a mystery. Who will it be? Stay tuned!
Also stepping into the ring is UFC veteran Clay Guida. He’s set for the co-main event, but his opponent’s name is still under wraps.
Cejudo recently announced his retirement—again—from MMA after his last bout at UFC 323. He lost a unanimous decision to Payton Talbott, marking his fourth straight defeat.
“The Messenger” ended his first retirement after stopping Dominick Cruz at UFC 249 in May 2020. But after a three-year break, he returned and lost a split decision to Aljamain Sterling at UFC 288 in May 2023.
The 38-year-old also faced defeats against Merab Dvalishvili and Song Yadong, the latter being a technical decision at UFC Seattle.
Before his MMA career, Cejudo snagged an Olympic gold in 2008, becoming the youngest American to do so at just 21. Quite the feat, huh?
