Holly Holm Open to Boxing Match with Katie Taylor in Ireland

Holly Holm has returned to boxing to pursue a fourth division title and potentially face Katie Taylor, aiming for significant achievements rather than just financial gain.

Holly Holm isn’t stepping back into the boxing ring just for a paycheck. She’s chasing gold, aiming to become a four-division champion.

Already in the International Boxing Hall of Fame, Holm eyes a new title. She faces WBA lightweight champ Stephanie Han in Puerto Rico this Saturday.

Holm didn’t know if she’d return to boxing after her MMA success. But at 44, she’s confident she can make waves again.

“I love women’s boxing,” Holm shared with MMA Fighting. The Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano fight at MSG inspired her. Could she fight one of them? Who knows?

In June, Holm scored a unanimous decision win in her boxing comeback. Now, she’s gunning for a title in her second fight back.

Holm could’ve gone the influencer boxing route for easy cash. But that’s not her style. She’s always been about the real challenge.

“I didn’t want to come back just for fun,” Holm explained. She aims to get ranked and fight top names. It’s not new, just been a while.

Holm’s career has always been about fighting the best, while they’re at their peak. “I wanted to take on the best when they are the best.”

A win on Saturday could set up a huge fight for Holm. Maybe even against Irish superstar Katie Taylor.

Taylor’s nearing the end of her career, but a fight in Ireland with Holm would be massive. Eddie Hearn’s even hinted at it.

Taylor, 39, was an undisputed lightweight champ. She’s held belts Holm once did. A showdown between them? Epic.

Holm’s focus is on beating Han first. But the idea of fighting Taylor in Ireland is tantalizing.

“I would love that,” Holm said about the potential Taylor fight. “It would be amazing.” Goals and dreams, she calls them.

There was talk of a Taylor fight ages ago, but it never happened. Now, with both at the top of their game, it seems meant to be.

Holm praises Taylor as a fighter and a superstar. Facing her would be another accolade for Holm.

“She’s done a lot in her career,” Holm said about Taylor. “Headlining MSG, things women haven’t done before.”

Holm’s made a name for herself too. A head-to-head with Taylor? That would be something special.
