Jessica Eye’s 2019 Win Overturned After Failed Drug Test

Jessica Eye’s June 2025 BKFC win over Mariya Agapova was overturned to a no-contest due to a failed drug test for marijuana, echoing a similar incident from her UFC debut in Texas.

Jessica Eye just saw another win slip away.

The longtime UFC vet and recent bare-knuckle boxer had her June 2025 BKFC decision victory over Mariya Agapova turned into a no-contest. Why? A failed drug test, as confirmed by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. MMA Fighting’s Damon Martin backed up the news after MMA Junkie’s initial report.

Interestingly, the TDLR didn’t specify the drug involved. However, Eye later admitted it was marijuana. Déjà vu, anyone? This is the same substance that cost her a win in her UFC debut back in Texas, 2013.

“Oh Texas,” Eye mused on Instagram. “Funny how my first UFC fight and my first BKFC fight both got overturned for marijuana.”

That win at BKFC 76 in Fort Worth was Eye’s first taste of victory since beating Viviane Araujo at UFC 245 in December 2019. Afterward, she faced four consecutive UFC losses and parted ways with the promotion in 2022. She also endured losses in grappling matches for Submission Underground.

It’s another setback for Eye, a significant figure in women’s MMA. Despite a rollercoaster UFC career, she once vied for the flyweight title, though she was knocked out by Valentina Shevchenko in the second round at UFC 238.
