Jiri Prochazka is intensely focused on his UFC 311 fight against Jamahal Hill, dismissing Hill’s trash talk and emphasizing that he will let his actions in the octagon speak for themselves.
Jiri Prochazka’s focus on his UFC 311 showdown with Jamahal Hill is intense. Especially when it comes to the trash talk.
“He’s an opponent I wanted before,” Prochazka shared with MMA Fighting. “He had a lot to say about me, my style, everything.” Time to fight. Simple as that. Ready to show my best.
The two former light heavyweight champs are set for a three-round main card bout. It’s UFC’s first pay-per-view of 2025, in Los Angeles, January 18. Both were knocked out by Alex Pereira recently, but Hill’s been vocal about their losses. He says Prochazka was “completely shut down” at UFC 303.
Prochazka isn’t fazed by the chatter. It’s not about the talk for him; it’s about unleashing his aggression when the octagon door closes.
“I don’t care what he says,” Prochazka explained. “It reveals more about him than me.” He knows my fighting style, not me personally. So his comments are off.
True confidence doesn’t need trash talk. “A real man doesn’t need to boast or belittle others,” Prochazka continued. “I’ll let my actions speak in the cage.”
Hill’s words are just noise to Prochazka. A warrior fights, no need for empty words or nonsense.
Before UFC 310, Hill tried provoking Pereira at the UFC Performance Institute. It led to Pereira tossing boxing gloves at him, challenging him to step into the cage. Hill backed down.
Asked about this incident, Prochazka shrugged it off. “I just don’t care what he wants or doesn’t want,” he said.
Prochazka defeated Aleksandar Rakic at UFC 300, nestled between two knockout losses to Pereira. The loss taught him acceptance and clarity about who he is.
“Yeah, I’m locked in,” Prochazka admitted. “This warrior path is my life.” No other option. This is me.
And that’s all there is to it.
