Jiri Prochazka vs. Alex Pereira for Vacant Light Heavyweight Title at UFC 295 Co-Main Event

Jiri Prochazka is set to fight former champion Alex Pereira for the vacant UFC light heavyweight belt, an event co-headlined by Jon Jones defending his heavyweight title against Stipe Miocic.

The UFC 295 is set to be a game-changer with Jiri Prochazka facing off against Alex Pereira. These high profile light heavyweight fighters will compete for the title in the co-main event set to take place on Nov. 11 in New York City. This announcement was officiated by UFC’s CEO Dana White on a Wednesday.

Prochazka had previously captured the UFC light heavyweight title in a brutal match with Glover Teixeira. However, a severe shoulder injury led to him vacating the belt in lieu of a scheduled rematch. Now that he has recovered from his injury, he’s ready to return to action. He aims to regain the championship title he had to give up but never actually lost in a match. This time he will face another former champion, marking his much-anticipated return to the ring.

As for Pereira, he is no stranger to championships either. Pereira, a former UFC middleweight titleholder, is making his second appearance in the light heavyweight category. His debut in this category saw him earn a tough victory over Jan Blachowicz. Pereira has his eyes set on a second division title for his seventh UFC fight, this time against Prochazka. The match between Prochazka and Pereira is set to be a major highlight of the card at Madison Square Garden. The event will also feature a main event where Jon Jones, the UFC heavyweight champion, is to defend his title against Stipe Miocic.
