McGregor’s Coach Wants Justin Gaethje Fight Next

John Kavanagh the man who knows Conor McGregor best has spoken out about who he wants his megastar, Conor McGregor to fight next.

Conor McGregor returned to the Octagon at UFC 246 after more than a 1-year layoff. It took all but 40 seconds for McGregor to silence critics who thought he would struggle at a weight class he has only fought twice in. Donald Cerrone did not stand a chance to land a shot on McGregor who was able to land a barrage of 19 shots that lead to a TKO victory.

When asked by ESPN’s Ariel Hewani, Kavanagh broke down McGregor’s next move.

“Conor will be back before the summer. He definitely will be competing before the summer. We will prepare for the April fight next just in case something happens”.

UFC 249 will feature the highly anticipated fight between Khabib Nurmagomedov and Tony Ferguson. The 2 men have been scheduled to fight 4 times in the past but issues in both camps have prevented the fight taking place.

“If the April fight goes on, I think it makes to schedule to fight a few weeks after that”

Justin Gaethje at 170 would be my personal preference. He’s another lightweight and why have either of them to cut weight. The vision is to get the lightweight belt back”.

Dana White in the post 246 press conference has discussed the status of Justin Gaethje.

“Justin and I need to sit down in the next few weeks and have a face to face meeting. I like Gaethje. He’s a great kid with a lot of talent. We need to get on the same page”.

Masvidal made an appearance on the Ariel Hewani show on Monday and issued a firm statement.

“Conor doesn’t want to fight man. He has sealed Usman’s fate. I’m not going to wait around”.
