Jungle Fight Unveils Record-Breaking Brazilian MMA Grand Prix

Jungle Fight, a long-standing MMA promotion, announced it will host two tournaments in 2025 offering the highest prize in Brazilian MMA history, with winners receiving R$500,000, supported by a major TV deal with Globo.

Jungle Fight, one of MMA’s most enduring promotions, is set to make history in 2025. They’re offering the highest prize ever in Brazilian MMA.

On Monday, they announced two tournaments: “King of the Jungle” and “Queen of the Jungle.” The eight-man lightweight tournament kicks off on June 14 in Brasilia, Brazil. The date for the women’s flyweight grand prix? Still under wraps.

Winners will pocket R$500,000, nearly $90,000 USD. That’s a record-breaking payout for Brazilian MMA. The lightweight matchups are intense: Carlos Alexandre da Costa vs. Lucas Campos, Marcelo Medeiros vs. Bruno Guimarães Santos, Eliwelton Travassos vs. Arcangelo Anjo, and Jorge Silva vs. Cleiton Morais.

Jungle Fight scored a huge TV deal with Globo, the largest network in Latin America. This network, once a UFC partner, airs Jungle Fight title bouts live. Full cards? They’re on SporTV and Combate. Deal figures? Still a mystery.

Wallid Ismail, founder and president, shared his excitement. “A night where two fighters will win R$1 million in total,” he said. “It’s going to be incredible. Imagine my joy in paying this gigantic amount to these warriors. They deserve it.”

The latest event, Jungle Fight 136, aired Saturday night on Globo. Laura Vasconcelos defended her strawweight championship by stopping Laura Fontoura in just over three minutes. Vanderlei Gonçalves unified the welterweight belts with a second-round TKO over Anderson Nascimento in the co-headliner.
