Justin Gaethje Misses Top 50 in Celebrity Golf Tournament

Justin Gaethje finished 56th in the American Century Championship golf tournament, a celebrity event in Lake Tahoe, outperforming several notable athletes and personalities.

Justin Gaethje didn’t exactly shine in last weekend’s golf tournament. He finished 56th at the American Century Championship in Lake Tahoe, a star-studded event with athletes, celebrities, and influencers.

Throughout the tournament, which spanned Friday to Sunday, Gaethje played alongside golf content creator Hally Leadbetter, World Series champs Kevin Millar, Gary Sheffield, and Chase Utley. Leadbetter snagged 20th place, while Millar tied for 13th. Sheffield and Utley both tied for 53rd.

The competition used a modified Stableford scoring system, awarding or deducting points based on each hole’s result. Gaethje stayed consistent, ending Round 1 tied for 56th, improving slightly in Round 2 to tie for 50th, but ultimately landing back at 56th on Sunday.

Not all was lost, though. Gaethje finished ahead of some big names like NFL legends Emmitt Smith, Mike Vrabel, and Charles Woodson. Even NBA Hall of Famer Charles Barkley and comedians Ray Romano, Colin Jost, and Larry The Cable Guy trailed behind him.

The tournament was clinched by NHL veteran Joe Pavelski, who dominated with 73 points. Hot on his heels was Atlanta Braves icon John Smoltz, securing second place with 64 points.

At 36, Gaethje has been exploring other sports while waiting for his next fight. Since his victory over Rafael Fiziev at UFC 313 in March, “The Highlight” has been vocal about deserving a shot at the UFC lightweight title.
