Kevin Holland and Belal Muhammad have a mutual disdain, exchanging insults over social media regarding each other’s fighting records and accomplishments, with Holland questioning Muhammad’s skills and title legitimacy, while Muhammad mocks Holland’s inconsistent fight record.
Kevin Holland doesn’t think much of Belal Muhammad. And the feeling? Mutual.
At UFC 316 media day, Holland was asked about Muhammad losing his welterweight title to Jack Della Maddalena at UFC 315. Holland called it “amazing.”
It wasn’t just the performance that wowed him. He criticized Muhammad’s fighting style, suggesting he’s not as skilled as his record implies.
“I’ve never thought the world of Belal,” Holland said. “He’s a hard worker, but camps boil down to who works hardest. You outwork him, you outfight him. That’s his thing—work ethic.”
Muhammad hit back on social media. “It’s always the ones that’ll never touch gold that have the most to say. Doesn’t this bum lose every other fight he’s in?”
Though Holland recently won against Gunnar Nelson, Muhammad’s jab isn’t baseless. Holland’s a fan favorite for his frequent fights, but he hasn’t won back-to-back since 2023, with two streaks of consecutive losses.
Another clip of Holland questioned Muhammad’s championship credibility after his loss to Della Maddalena. “Shout-out to anyone who’s got a UFC belt,” Holland said. “But if you haven’t defended it, did you really get a f*cking belt? Isn’t that what you all said about Conor?”
Muhammad mocked Holland’s record again. “If you fight every month and lose every month, are you the most active fighter or the most active loser?”
Holland responded on Twitter, sharing a screenshot of a DM conversation about a potential fight. Now, he’s asking if Muhammad’s still interested.
“I waited a few years, but you still want smoke, you got the gun, ex-champ,” Holland wrote.
Holland’s set to fight Vicente Luque this Saturday at UFC 316.
