Khamzat Chimaev Seeks UFC Champion at White House Event

Khamzat Chimaev is eager to fight Alex Pereira for the UFC light heavyweight title, publicly challenging him and urging fans to encourage the matchup, while Pereira has not yet responded to the callout.

Khamzat Chimaev is laser-focused on getting Alex Pereira into the cage.

He’s itching to face “Poatan” for a shot at the UFC light heavyweight title, aiming to become a two-division champ. Chimaev hasn’t been shy, calling Pereira out multiple times. Recently, he told ESPN that Pereira was “running away” from the matchup. Bold move, right?

On Monday, Chimaev took to Twitter, saying, “Let’s go White House. Don’t worry, I will finish you fast [Pereira].” Talk about confidence!

Pereira, reigning as the 205-pound champ, hasn’t responded yet. He hinted on social media that fighting at the White House card is off the table, saying, “Looks like the White House is a NO GO!!!” Just last October, he reclaimed his title with a knockout of Magomed Ankalaev at UFC 320.

Meanwhile, Chimaev’s on a roll. In August, he clinched the middleweight title by defeating Dricus du Plessis at UFC 319. Now 15-0, he’s eager to add Pereira to his victory list, which already boasts names like Robert Whittaker and Kamaru Usman. Quite the resume!

“All Brazilian fans, tell this boy if you’re not scared tell him to fight,” Chimaev urged. He’s not holding back.

The UFC White House event is penciled in for June 14, just before the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Declaration of Independence. No official bouts yet, but the anticipation is real.
