Kron Gracie‘s return to MMA has been delayed after he was not medically cleared by the New York State Athletic Commission, leading to changes in the Victory Fighting League event lineup.
Kron Gracie’s return to MMA is on hold. The New York State Athletic Commission hasn’t given him the green light medically.
He was set to clash with Tom Picciano for a featherweight title. This was the main event at the Victory Fighting League in New York. But plans changed.
VFL CEO Dan Anderson shared the news. “Regrettably, Kron won’t compete on Friday,” he announced. They hope to resolve things soon and see Kron back in action next year.
The exact issue? Still a mystery. Yet, Gracie took to social media to express his frustration.
“I’m cleared to fight with all my doctors,” he posted on Instagram Stories. He criticized the NYSAC for being difficult. Five months of training and significant expenses—wasted.
Gracie hasn’t fought since a knockout loss to Bryce Mitchell in December 2024. That marked his third consecutive UFC defeat. Before that, he was undefeated at 5-0.
With Gracie out, T.J. Brown vs. Dylan Mantello now headlines the VFL card. Meanwhile, Daniel Lacerda faces Ashiek Ajim in the co-main event.
