Lucas Almeida Withdraws from UFC Paris Bout Against William Gomis

Lucas Almeida has withdrawn from the UFC event in Paris due to injury, leaving William Gomis in need of a new opponent.

William Gomis needs a new adversary for the upcoming UFC event in Paris, after Lucas Almeida pulled out of the competition. In an announcement made via social media, Almeida cited suffering an injury as the reason for his withdrawal. Whether or not there will be a replacement to take on French featherweight Gomis at the Accor Arena remains unclear.

Gomis, who boasts a 12-2 record, has experienced an impressive winning streak since 2018, racking up ten victories in a row. This was crowned by triumphs against Jarno Errens and Francis Marshall under the UFC umbrella. Out of his last eight victories, Gomis managed to score finishes in six.

On the other hand, Almeida, with a 14-2 record and a Jungle Fight championship to his name, was hoping this event would be his comeback after a loss to Pat Sabatini in his most recent octagon appearance this past June. This defeat followed his Fight of the Night win against Michael Trizano a year earlier. Furthermore, the UFC Paris event set to welcome local stars Ciryl Gane and Manon Fiorot, who will face off against Serghei Spivac and Rose Namajunas, respectively, in the main events.
