Former UFC champ Luke Rockhold predicted Tyron Woodley‘s poor performance against Anderson Silva in the boxing ring, noting Woodley is no longer fully engaged in fighting, as evidenced by his recent string of losses.
Former UFC champ Luke Rockhold had his doubts about Tyron Woodley’s chances against Anderson Silva in the boxing ring. And, well, he nailed it.
Woodley, stepping in for the injured Chris Weidman, faced Silva after a brutal KO by Jake Paul in December 2021. It didn’t end well. Silva finished him in round two, with Woodley’s corner wisely throwing in the towel after a nasty combo.
Rockhold, though friends with Woodley, didn’t sugarcoat his thoughts. “That was what I thought it would be,” he shared with Submission Radio.
“Tyron’s not there to fight anymore. He’s just sleep fighting these days,” Rockhold added. Ouch.
“You have to see and throw punches consciously,” he continued. “He’s just not there live anymore.”
Woodley’s on a rough streak, losing seven straight. His last win? Back in September 2018, when he stopped Darren Till at UFC 228. Ah, the good ol’ days.
