Luke Rockhold’s Statement on Loss to Colby Covington at RAF 5

Luke Rockhold, after losing to Colby Covington in a wrestling match at RAF 5, expressed satisfaction with his performance and hinted at trying new sports, despite recent setbacks in his combat sports career.

Luke Rockhold took his shot against Colby Covington at RAF 5, and though he missed, he isn’t too hard on himself. Despite falling by technical fall with a 12-0 score, Rockhold faced a tough challenge against a former Division I All-American wrestler like Covington.

Covington, who dominated the match, still praised Rockhold for stepping into the ring. He admired Rockhold’s strength and flexibility, even though the match ended within the first two periods.

It’s never easy to lose, but Rockhold’s spirits remain high. In his first statement after the match, he seemed pretty upbeat.

“Compete, challenge myself, get in shape, learn a new sport, and get paid with no risk,” Rockhold shared on Instagram. “Lost a few points but had a good time. Happy to see wrestling make it to the big stage.”

Wrestling is just the latest in Rockhold’s diverse sporting adventures. After retiring from the UFC, he made a bare-knuckle return against Mike Perry in BKFC. He also knocked out Joe Schilling in Karate Combat.

Recently, he ventured into boxing but faced a brutal knockout by Darren Till in Misfits. This led him to hint that his combat sports days might be winding down, as absorbing damage isn’t as easy as it used to be.

However, wrestling posed less risk since Rockhold only had to fend off takedowns and throws, avoiding punches altogether.

As for his future in RAF, Rockhold hasn’t confirmed any plans. But who knows? Maybe another sport will catch his eye by 2026.

“Power Slap, see you soon,” he teased, leaving fans guessing.
