Iasmin Lucindo aims to climb the strawweight rankings by facing Marina Rodriguez at UFC 307 on Oct. 5, while ex-champion Aljamain Sterling vs. Movsar Evloev is also reported for the event, which is targeted for Salt Lake City but not yet officially announced.
Iasmin Lucindo aims to make a significant leap in the strawweight rankings. She’s set to face fellow Brazilian Marina Rodriguez at UFC 307 on Oct. 5. Multiple sources confirmed the match-up following a report from Ag. Fight.
The promotion hasn’t officially announced the main event or the location yet. However, it’s currently targeted for Salt Lake City. Another fight reported for the pay-per-view card is ex-champion Aljamain Sterling vs. Movsar Evloev.
Lucindo (16-5) recently entered the top-15 in MMA Fighting’s Global Rankings. This came after her victory over former title contender Karolina Kowalkiewicz in May. It marked her third straight UFC win, following triumphs over Polyana Viana and Brogan Walker.
She also earned a $50,000 performance bonus for her submission win over Viana.
Rodriguez (17-4-2) was once close to challenging for the title, with wins over Amanda Ribas, Michelle Waterson-Gomez, Mackenzie Dern, and Yan Xiaonan. But now she seeks to rebound from a 1-3 run since 2022.
Her recent defeats include losses to fellow Brazilians Amanda Lemos, Virna Jandiroba, and Jessica Andrade.
