Mayra Bueno Silva Vows to Humiliate Julianna Pena over Mental Health Mockery

Mayra Bueno Silva believes that despite her win being overturned for a failed drug test, she will still have the opportunity to fight for the UFC bantamweight championship and plans to beat Julianna Peña to demonstrate her dominance in the division.

Mayra Bueno Silva is confident that her next fight will be for the UFC bantamweight championship, despite what she believes to be an unfair decision regarding her last win. Silva’s victory over Holly Holm in July was overturned after she tested positive for ritalinic acid in a pre-fight drug test. However, Silva maintains that the medication is not a performance-enhancing substance and that she has now been granted a therapeutic use exemption (TUE) for its use.
Silva expressed her frustration with the decision, stating that she had been taking the medication for a long time and that both USADA (United States Anti-Doping Agency) and the UFC were aware of this. She jokingly remarked that if the medication had the power to make her submit opponents, she would never lose a fight. Nonetheless, she is relieved to have obtained a TUE for the medication, which means she can use it without fear of failing future drug tests.
Despite the failed test, Silva believes that the UFC still sees her as the rightful contender for the vacant bantamweight title. She expressed confidence in her chances of being selected for the next title fight, but acknowledged that she can’t be certain of the UFC’s plans. Silva also addressed comments made by Julianna Peña, who called her a cheater following news of the failed drug test. Silva vowed to beat Peña so severely that she would learn the consequences of mocking mental health.
Silva’s determination to dominate the division and prove herself as the rightful champion was evident in her words. She expressed a desire to humiliate Peña and asserted her ownership of the title and the division. Silva also stated that she would prefer to compete in Peña’s home turf to make the victory even more embarrassing for her opponent.
