Michael Chandler & Paddy Pimblett Respond to Conor McGregor’s Interest in Fight

Conor McGregor‘s social media post expressing interest in the Michael Chandler vs. Paddy Pimblett fight at UFC 314 has garnered extra attention for the bout, with both fighters acknowledging McGregor’s comments while focusing on their upcoming match.

Michael Chandler and Paddy Pimblett are in the spotlight for their upcoming fight at UFC 314, thanks to a social media shoutout from Conor McGregor. The former two-division champ, who’s been out since breaking his leg in 2021, stirred the pot by expressing interest in their matchup. He shared some training footage too.

Chandler’s been down this road before. After a coaching stint against McGregor on The Ultimate Fighter, a fight between them seemed inevitable. But alas, it never materialized. McGregor’s toe injury derailed plans, and the UFC moved on.

Reflecting on McGregor’s tweet, Chandler seemed unfazed. “He watches,” he said, questioning if McGregor can truly commit to a training camp. Chandler’s focus? Staying active. He’s fought six times in just over two years, earning accolades like Fight of the Year.

Despite losing to Charles Oliveira recently, Chandler quickly pivoted to face Pimblett. “I don’t care what Conor tweets,” Chandler remarked, emphasizing his commitment to delivering thrilling fights.

Pimblett, on the other hand, acknowledged McGregor’s attention but remains grounded. The fight with Chandler is his biggest yet. “I welcome that fight,” he said about a potential future bout with McGregor, “but I can’t look past Michael.”

For now, both fighters are gearing up for UFC 314 in Miami, with McGregor’s specter looming large. Will he return soon? No one knows for sure, but his presence is certainly felt as Chandler and Pimblett prepare for battle.
