Michael Page Defeats Carlos Condit in Polaris 30 Grappling Main Event

Michael “Venom” Page showcased his grappling evolution to secure a decision victory over Carlos Condit in the main event of Polaris 30 in London.

Michael “Venom” Page showcased significant growth in his grappling skills, overcoming Carlos Condit at Polaris 30’s main event in London. Quite the evolution for MVP!

Once a Bellator title contender, Page hadn’t won via submission in eight years of his 22-3 MMA career. He told MMA Fighting he aims to be remembered as a “true martial artist,” having dabbled in boxing and bare-knuckle boxing. So, why not grapple with ex-UFC and WEC champ Condit? A striker with nearly equal submissions (13) and knockouts (15).

The match kicked off with Condit pulling guard swiftly, but Page defended by posturing up. They returned to their feet after Condit blocked further advancement. Condit’s takedown attempt led them back to the ground, where he tried a toe hold and kneebar. Page? He escaped both.

Rolling around, Condit found himself on top before they locked into a 50-50 guard. Back standing again, Page’s takedown sent Condit tumbling over the lighting system! A brief pause ensued with mere seconds left. The decision? Page emerged victorious.

“He’s tough, really strong, grips are crazy,” Page remarked post-victory. “I’m used to being the one with the grips.”

Page felt prepared for Condit’s leg attacks thanks to his team. “I wasn’t worried,” he said confidently.

Condit expressed disappointment: “It didn’t go my way tonight.” He acknowledged some great moments but knew improvements were needed. “I was trying to get those legs… MVP is all legs.”

In the co-main event, Helena Crevar retained her Polaris title with a decision win over Nia Blackman. For complete Polaris 30 results—including UFC featherweight Nathaniel Wood‘s matchup against Cameron Else—click here.
