Michael Page, despite wanting to return to welterweight, continues to compete in the middleweight division due to UFC’s scheduling, while also securing a role in the film “Road House 2,” and is expected to fight in London in March.
Michael Page, despite his success at middleweight, keeps expressing his desire to return to welterweight. Yet, the UFC hasn’t granted his wish.
Since joining the UFC, Page has gone 3-1, starting with two fights at 170 pounds and then moving up to 185. Interesting switch, right?
He recently shared his thoughts on a potential return in 2026 during an appearance on Shxts N Gigs. “My likely next fight is going to be, because they’re coming to London as they always do for March,” he mentioned.
Page is a big name in London, and the UFC wants him on the card, but there’s no opponent lined up yet. Frustrating, isn’t it?
Previously, he called out Shara Magomedov for a middleweight bout before his grappling match with Carlos Condit. The UFC obliged, and Page secured a win at UFC Saudi Arabia.
Even though he wants to drop back to welterweight, Page stayed at middleweight to fight Jared Cannonier at UFC 319. The UFC seems reluctant to let him switch back.
“I’m in two divisions,” Page explained. He took a middleweight fight on a whim but keeps asking for a welterweight bout. “Nobody’s available,” they say. Really?
Page is baffled by this. Despite his frustrations, he remains optimistic, believing things happen for a reason. This mindset led him to a role in a film sequel with MMA ties.
“In my head, something’s going on,” Page said. He’s now involved with Road House 2 until December. This gives him time to prepare properly for his next fight between January and March. Life’s funny like that.
