Mike Perry Challenges Conor McGregor After Trash Talk

Mike Perry is eager to fight Conor McGregor in a Bare Knuckle FC match if McGregor returns to competition, despite McGregor’s recent dismissive comments and ongoing legal issues.

Mike Perry’s itching for a showdown with Conor McGregor if "The Notorious" ever steps back into the ring. McGregor recently took a jab at Perry on Instagram, celebrating new light heavyweight champ Josh Dyer. He said, “You have never been bare-knuckle world champion. We made a fake belt for you… don’t mention Bare Knuckle FC again.”

Odd timing, right? But not surprising in the ongoing drama between McGregor, a part-owner of BKFC, and Perry, one of its stars. Remember when McGregor "fired" Perry after he lost a boxing match to Jake Paul? Perry even suggested McGregor would fare worse against Paul than he did against Floyd Mayweather Jr.

When McGregor’s comments came up on Perry’s podcast, “Platinum” brushed them off. “If people would rather see Conor talk about bare-knuckle than me fight in the ring, that’s their own prerogative,” Perry said. “I’m a fun, frickin’ beast, to be honest. I get down and I bang in the ring.”

McGregor’s been out of action for nearly four years since breaking his leg at UFC 264 in July 2021. He’s been busy healing, promoting, and starring in the 2024 remake of Road House. Plus, he’s tangled up in civil suits alleging sexual assault, including one tied to a 2019 incident in Dublin.

Perry, like many, doubts McGregor will fight again. But if he does, Perry’s ready to settle the score in the BKFC ring. “Conor ain’t even going to fight anymore,” Perry said. “He’s just talking. If he wanted to fight somebody, he should fight me.”

Perry hasn’t fought since losing to Paul. Before that, he was a big name in BKFC, going 5-0 with wins over former UFC champs like Luke Rockhold and Eddie Alvarez. He even snagged the “King of Violence” title.

It might not be McGregor next, but Perry promises his upcoming fight will excite fans. “Big things coming,” Perry teased. “I supposedly know some things that I’m not allowed to share. I’m just training in the meantime for my opportunity.”
