Mike Perry Rejects Conor McGregor Fight: UFC Ownership Issue

Mike Perry clarified that he has no animosity towards Conor McGregor despite their recent altercation, viewing it as part of the promotional game rather than a personal conflict.

Mike Perry’s got no beef with Conor McGregor, despite their recent dust-up. Back in 2023, Perry was riding high in the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship. He took down former UFC champ Luke Rockhold at BKFC 41, becoming the sport’s rising star.

Then, McGregor jumped into the ring. A faceoff ensued, hinting at a future clash. Fast forward, McGregor became a BKFC part-owner. After Perry’s loss to Jake Paul in 2024, McGregor mocked him for launching his own promotion and threatened to fire him.

This sparked a flurry of back-and-forth jabs. Things cooled until a recent BKFC press conference, where Perry called for a fight. McGregor retorted, “Dance for me.”

Despite the drama, Perry insists there’s no real animosity. “A little confusing,” he admitted to Demetrious Johnson on YouTube. He didn’t expect questions about McGregor but rolled with it. Fans wanted him to hit McGregor, but Perry shrugged it off.

He acknowledged McGregor’s role in keeping the company afloat, allowing Perry family time. “He’s a great promoter,” Perry noted. McGregor’s been out of the ring for years, so Perry didn’t see a reason to hit him.

McGregor did steal some thunder, announcing Perry’s fight date. Perry’s response? “Alright, I’m going to fight. But not you.”

For Perry, it wasn’t as big a deal as people thought. He took a cheeky jab at McGregor, though. “I’m a pro fighter. We toe the line. If someone hits me first, I’ll get to them if I can.”

He was just happy to promote his tequila, look sharp on stage, and think about his wife in the audience. No interest in a dolly-throwing incident.

Meanwhile, McGregor’s still tied to the UFC with two fights left. He hasn’t fought since 2021 but keeps teasing a comeback, maybe even at the rumored UFC White House card.
