UFC 295, headlined by a heavyweight title fight between Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic, has added several new fights to its card, including a middleweight clash between Derek Brunson and Roman Dolidze, a flyweight bout between Matt Schnell and Steve Erceg, Mackenzie Dern versus Jessica Andrade at strawweight, and a flyweight fight between Joshua Van and Kevin Borjas.
The UFC 295 card, scheduled for November, features the much-anticipated heavyweight title fight between Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic. Additional bouts have been included in the event, with tickets due to go on sale this week. The latest announcement in this regard was made by UFC officials on Wednesday.
Among the latest additions confirmed by the officials was a speculated middleweight tussle between Derek Brunson and Roman Dolidze. Brunson will be aiming to bounce back from two consecutive knockout losses at the hands of Jared Cannonier and Dricus Du Plessi. Notwithstanding these reversals, Brunson had been on a notable winning streak with five victories in a row, making him a mainstay in the middleweight rankings.
In contrast to Brunson, Dolidze will also seek to recover. He suffered a decision defeat to Marvin Vettori in March, bringing his four-win streak to a halt. In the purview of the Flyweight category, Matt Schnell will lock horns with Steve Erceg. This will be Schnell’s first bout since his knockout loss to Matheus Nicolau in December 2022. He was due to return in June, but a scheduled matchup against David Dvorak had to be postponed. Erceg, who replaced Schnell at UFC 289, seized the opportunity and claimed a unanimous decision victory over Dvorak. He will now face off against Schnell at UFC 295.
Lastly, the UFC 295 card will also feature Mackenzie Dern going up against Jessica Andrade in a strawweight match and Joshua Van in a flyweight match against Kevin Borjas. More announcements regarding additional fights are expected in the forthcoming weeks.
