Newcomer Joins UFC Vegas 112 to Face Joanderson Brito

Joanderson Brito will fight UFC newcomer Isaac Thomson at UFC Vegas 112, after Thomson replaced Melsik Baghdasaryan on short notice.

Joanderson Brito is gearing up for a fresh challenge this Saturday at UFC Vegas 112.

MMA Fighting’s Mike Heck and Guilherme Cruz have confirmed that Brito (17-5-1) will face octagon newcomer Isaac Thomson (9-2) at UFC APEX in Las Vegas. Thomson steps in on just four days’ notice, replacing Melsik Baghdasaryan, who withdrew for undisclosed reasons.

Ag. Fight first reported the change, and Thomson himself announced his signing on social media.

At 23, Thomson has made a name for himself in LFA since 2021, snagging seven wins out of nine fights. His latest victory was a split decision over Akbarjon Islomboev in October.

Brito, now 30, has been on a rollercoaster. He climbed close to the featherweight top 10 with a five-fight win streak from 2022-2024. Key victories included Jack Shore, Jonathan Pearce, and Andre Fili. Yet, he’s in a slump, having lost his last two fights, including a unanimous decision to Pat Sabatini in April.

The main event at UFC Vegas 112? A flyweight contender bout between Manel Kape and Brandon Royval. Exciting stuff!
