Nick Diaz has returned to training at Xtreme Couture in Las Vegas, where he met Sean Strickland, who is preparing for a fight against Anthony Hernandez, with both fighters expressing mutual respect for each other.
Nick Diaz is back in action at the gym, training at Xtreme Couture in Las Vegas. Sean Strickland, one of the team leaders, crossed paths with Diaz earlier this week.
Strickland is gearing up for a big fight against Anthony Hernandez at UFC Houston on Feb. 21. During a training session, captured on Jake Shields’ Fight Back MMA social media, Strickland spotted Diaz in the cage.
Their first meeting was something to see. “That’s awesome, I got to get rolling with you, dude,” Strickland exclaimed. “F*cking legend over here, guys. It’s crazy.”
Strickland, aiming for a comeback after a tough loss to Dricus du Plessis at UFC 312, faces Hernandez, who’s on a hot streak. Hernandez boasts an eight-fight win streak, including a standout submission win over Roman Dolidze.
Meanwhile, Diaz is keeping fit and focused. Strickland shared how he used to watch Diaz growing up. “The moral of the story is, when I was a kid, I used to watch you, bro,” he said. “I’d be in my f*cking boxer shorts in the living room watching you scrap, dog. It was dope, dude.”
Diaz, with a nod of respect, replied, “Now I watch you.”
