Dana White announced that Dillon Danis is banned from future UFC events following a brawl at UFC 322, while outgoing NYC Mayor Eric Adams confirmed a police investigation is underway despite no initial arrests.
Dana White assured everyone he wouldn’t press charges against Dillon Danis after a brawl erupted at UFC 322. But, that doesn’t mean the police won’t pursue action against those involved.
Outgoing NYC Mayor Eric Adams took to social media, criticizing the chaos at Madison Square Garden. The brawl involved Danis and members of Islam Makhachev’s team, leading to Danis’s removal, though no arrests were made.
“These assaults at Madison Square Garden are completely unacceptable,” Adams tweeted. “The NYPD is already conducting a full investigation, and everyone responsible will be held accountable.”
Before becoming mayor, Adams spent 22 years with the NYPD. It’s uncertain if charges will be filed, as most involved aren’t signed to the UFC.
Adams’ term ends in January, with Zohran Mamdani set to take office. Meanwhile, White reflected, “I blame myself for that actually.”
White recounted being informed of Danis’s presence and potential conflict with Jorge Masvidal. He decided to let Danis stay, thinking it wouldn’t escalate.
“It never even crossed my mind,” White admitted, acknowledging the tension with Makhachev’s supporters nearby. “I knew it.”
White announced Danis’s ban from future UFC events but confirmed no charges would be pursued by the promotion. However, Adams insists the investigation continues.
