Olympic gold medalist Kyle Snyder was arrested in a Columbus prostitution sting after allegedly responding to an online escort ad and is due in court on May 19.
Olympic gold medalist Kyle Snyder found himself in hot water last Friday. Columbus Police nabbed him during a prostitution sting.
The arrest was confirmed to MMA Fighting, following an initial report by 10TV. Snyder, 29, wasn’t alone; he was one of 16 men caught in the operation.
Police had orchestrated an undercover operation, posting escort ads online to lure potential offenders. Snyder, it seems, took the bait.
Around 8:15 p.m., Snyder reportedly called and texted the number from the ad, arranging a meet-up at a local hotel. Once there, he allegedly paid cash to an undercover officer and requested oral sex.
He was promptly arrested but released at the scene. His court date is set for May 19.
Snyder’s wrestling career is nothing short of legendary. He made history as the youngest U.S. wrestler to win Olympic gold in 2016.
He snagged a silver medal in the 2020 Olympics but missed out on a third medal in the 2024 Paris Games. Beyond the Olympics, Snyder boasts seven World Championship medals and three National titles from his Ohio State University days.
Recently, Snyder signed on with Real American Freestyle, a new wrestling promotion by Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff. Quite a twist in his storied career, right?
