The co-main event of UFC Vegas 106 between Paul Craig and Rodolfo Bellato was canceled last minute due to Bellato’s medical issue, with the fight expected to be rescheduled soon.
UFC Vegas 106 faced a last-minute shake-up. Just moments before the fighters were set to enter the octagon, the co-main event was canceled.
Paul Craig and Rodolfo Bellato’s fight was scrapped. Bellato had a medical issue, announced during the UFC broadcast.
Unexpectedly, Bellato shared on Instagram, “I never thought that herpes would take me out of a fight.” It was beyond his control, and he apologized to fans.
The Craig vs. Bellato bout will be rescheduled soon. Both fighters faced disappointment, with Bellato traveling from Brazil and Craig from Scotland.
Bellato, undefeated in two UFC fights, sought his biggest win yet. His record stands at 12-2-1, with a draw against Jimmy Crute at UFC 312.
Craig aimed to return to light heavyweight after a tough streak at 185 pounds, with losses to Bo Nickal, Caio Borralho, and Brendan Allen.
A new date for the fight is expected. Meanwhile, lightweights Sodiq Yusuff and Mairon Santos will take the co-main event spot at UFC Vegas 106.
