Petr Yan vs Marcus McGhee Set for UFC Abu Dhabi Return

Former bantamweight champion Petr Yan will face Marcus McGhee in a UFC fight in Abu Dhabi on July 26, as Yan seeks a third consecutive win and McGhee aims for a major career opportunity.

Former bantamweight champ Petr Yan is gearing up for his next bout. He’s set to clash with the hard-hitting Marcus McGhee at the UFC event in Abu Dhabi on July 26.

Insiders confirmed the fight to MMA Fighting on Wednesday. The initial report of this matchup came from MMA Mania.

Yan returns to the octagon after an eight-month break following his victory over Deiveson Figueiredo in China. That win marked his second consecutive triumph, pulling him out of a three-fight losing streak that included tough battles with Aljamain Sterling, Sean O’Malley, and Merab Dvalishvili.

Now, with two wins under his belt, Yan’s back in the title race, aiming for a third consecutive win this July.

On the flip side, McGhee is facing the biggest challenge of his career. He’s on a perfect 4-0 streak in the UFC, with three finishes to his name. After a submission win in his debut, he followed up with two knockouts and a decision victory over Jonathan Martinez last November.

McGhee is eager to climb the ranks as he takes on Yan.

The Abu Dhabi card on July 26 will be headlined by a middleweight clash. Former champ Robert Whittaker faces Reinier de Ridder, who’s coming off a win against Bo Nickal in May.
