PFL Africa Debut Rescheduled

PFL Africa’s inaugural event in Cape Town has been rescheduled to July 19, featuring two events including a PFL Champions Series, which coincides with UFC 318, creating a scheduling conflict.

PFL Africa is arriving sooner than we thought! Originally set for July 26, it’s now happening on July 19, as announced on Tuesday.

The event will take place at GrandWest Arena in Cape Town, South Africa. Interestingly, it’s split into two parts. The second event is the PFL Champions Series: Road to Dubai, headlined by middleweight champ Johnny Eblen facing Costello van Steenis.

In the co-main event, undefeated flyweight sensation Dakota Ditcheva squares off against Sumiko Inaba. Exciting stuff!

The first event, PFL Africa 1, kicks off the league’s Africa region tournaments, featuring heavyweights and bantamweights. Check out the lineup below.

Nkosi Ndebele takes on Mahmoud Atef in the bantamweight category. Meanwhile, Maxwell Djantou Nana faces Mikael Groguhe in the heavyweight division.

Shannon Van Tonder battles Boule Godogo, and Jashell Ticha Awa meets Justin Clarke. Both bouts promise fireworks!

Antero Dos Santos clashes with Karim Henniene, while Abdoullah Kane challenges Mohammed Ben Yahia. Simbarashe Hokonya and Alain Majorique will also face off.

Badredinne Medkouri’s opponent is still TBD, as is Juliet Ukah’s. The anticipation is real!

Interestingly, this date shift puts PFL up against UFC 318. That event features a trilogy bout between Max Holloway and Dustin Poirier, which is being billed as Poirier’s retirement fight. Quite the showdown, huh?
