UFC fighter Sedriques Dumas was arrested and remains in custody on multiple charges, including home invasion, battery, and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, stemming from a domestic violence incident with his ex-girlfriend.
UFC fighter Sedriques Dumas is still in custody following his April arrest on multiple charges, including home invasion, battery, and illegal weapon possession. The arrest report, obtained by MMA Fighting, reveals the incident involved domestic violence with the mother of his children.
Police were called to a disturbance at a residence where a woman claimed Dumas entered through an unlocked door, aggressively opened the back door, and forcefully took her phone. The victim, whose identity remains private, said she was on a call with her current boyfriend when Dumas allegedly snatched the phone and stormed back inside.
She followed him, demanding her phone back, and warned him about going to jail. Dumas reportedly replied, “if I’m going to jail then I’m going to get my rings back.” He allegedly tried to remove a ring from her finger but failed, then threw her around the room, causing her to hit a large wooden vase.
Dumas allegedly took a $400 necklace and her phone, left in his black BMW, then returned to toss the phone into the yard. The victim sought help from a passerby to call 911. She later informed police that Dumas had lived with her until December.
The police noted the victim was visibly upset, with fresh scratches and bruises on her arms and legs. She also received calls and texts from Dumas and his new girlfriend, one message pleading, “You OK, please don’t put him in jail.”
Authorities photographed her injuries and collected evidence, including messages and a photo of her wearing the stolen necklace. They later found Dumas hiding in a dog crate at his new girlfriend’s property.
During a search of his vehicle, police discovered a large bag of marijuana, a handgun, and drugs prescribed to Dumas. He claimed he had permission to retrieve his belongings from the residence and alleged the victim attacked him.
Dumas was arrested, with police noting fresh cuts on his leg. He holds a valid medical marijuana card, but as a convicted felon, possession of a firearm is illegal. His vehicle and the seized items were taken as evidence.
Police charged Dumas with home invasion/robbery, domestic battery, possession of marijuana over 20 grams, drug paraphernalia, and firearm possession by a felon. He remains jailed with a bond set at $558,500, awaiting his court date on May 23.
Just two weeks before his arrest, the 29-year-old fighter lost to Michał Oleksiejczuk via first-round TKO. UFC officials have yet to comment on the situation despite requests from MMA Fighting.
