Pros Criticize Judges After Zahabi’s Controversial Win at UFC 315

Jose Aldo‘s controversial decision loss to Aiemann Zahabi at UFC 315 sparked social media outrage and marked Aldo’s retirement announcement, highlighting his legendary career in MMA.

Jose Aldo’s last fight will be remembered for ages—and not just for the obvious reasons. The former featherweight king faced a controversial decision loss to Aiemann Zahabi at UFC 315. Zahabi claimed victory with a trio of 29-28 scores after a hard-fought three-round battle.

Both fighters had their moments. Aldo rocked Zahabi with a head kick early in the third, while Zahabi nearly finished Aldo with a ground-and-pound. Despite making it to the scorecards, Aldo didn’t see his hand raised. This marked his third loss on points in his last four fights.

Social media erupted over the decision. Renato Moicano called it a “f*cking robbery.” But attention quickly shifted to Aldo, who, at 38, removed his gloves after the result announcement.

Aldo used his post-fight mic time to declare, “I think this is the last time you’re going to see me.” Fans and fighters alike reacted to the legendary Aldo’s retirement.

Renato Moicano tweeted, “Maybe one of the worst decisions in MMA… Unbelievable the last 2 fights!!!” Yet, he also showed respect, calling Aldo a legend and wishing him well in retirement.

Max Holloway chimed in, expressing love for Aldo as one of the greatest. Brian Ortega echoed the sentiment, simply stating, “The man’s a legend.”

Terrance McKinney had his own take, suggesting Zahabi stole the last two rounds. Derek Brunson praised Aldo for carrying the sport for smaller fighters for over a decade.

Rampage Jackson kept it short and sweet: “Bad call… bad call, good fight tho.” Aldo’s legacy remains undeniable, despite the controversial ending.
